The pouring rain didn't seem to put a damper on the
Matt Nathanson and
Ingrid Michaelson show at Toad's Place last Friday night, as the two played before a packed house.
The show started with Michaelson, who is becoming a bigger name in music since a number of her songs appeared on the hit ABC show "Grey's Anatomy."
Although it was difficult to distinguish what she was saying on the microphone, Michaelson seemed comfortable on stage and was able to get the audience involved by performing her own rendition of the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" theme song.

Constantly funny, he was quick to make fun of the large number of teeny-boppers who seemed to have infiltrated Toad's Place. Unfortunately, the presence of many preteens led to a much cleaner concert than usual for Nathanson.
Nonetheless, Nathanson pulled out a solid performance, throwing in covers of classic songs such as "Jesse's Girl" and "Sweet Child of Mine" in between his own songs. And of course, no Nathanson concert would be complete without a rendition of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing," a favorite sing-a-long of Nathanson fans.

The entire crowd seemed to be into the show - except for the girls behind me who thought Nathanson was "too into it," and left right after he played his new single, "Car Crash."
But that's their loss. For the true fans of good music, Nathanson did not disappoint.
